: I went out again tonight, from the same launch. Getting out to the
: river proper was a pain. The west "channel" is very
: shallow, silted up with mud. I got through it all, but it was a
: workout, and had to knuckle my way through mud when I bottomed.
: It's clogged up with plants, too. The east side wasn't as bad,
: meaning I never bottomed out, but it's only a few inches deeper
: and almost as clogged with plants. Not fun.

: It's not a bad spot as long as one keeps to the area between shore
: and that island. Getting around the island is a problem.

You might want to go up a little further to the lock and put in there. A few motor boats but no problem if you stick to the south shore. Great paddle up past KAPL and GE R&D.
