You do realize the "old school" blackening agent for epoxy is Graphite powder. You can make a darkening epoxy just by adding less or fully opaque by adding more. Its fairly inexpensive and usually available at all epoxy suppliers

I've used quite a bit of WEST graphite powder in the past.
It works pretty well.
but....
It's not as 'black' as the SystemThree colorant - it has a bit of a grayish cast.
The SystemThree colorant is extremely concentrated but doesn't thicken the epoxy mix so it can be used in the 'wetout' stage.
Black iron oxide is cheap, and black, and hard.
