Grin, like I said, you sailors get as far as reading your right of way over power boats, and throw the book down.

I strongly suggest you contact your local Coast Guard office and ask them if a commercial vessel engaged in fishing (read, restricted meneuverability) has to yield to you simply because you've got sails out. Your going to be surprised.

Try demanding a dredge engaged in dredging move off because you think you have right of way some time.

If that isn't enough for you, feel free to come out here and try cutting through a net because you've got a sail. When you get stuck, depending upon who's net you get stuck upon, your boat will then be dragged until sunken. My wife has never *sunken* a sail boat of course. :-) You will then be held by the commercial fishing vessel until the Coast Guard or State police arrive, when you will be fined for violating Coast Guard regulations regarding right of ways, and held financially responsible for damages to the net, the commercial fishing vessel, and loss of catch, both current and potential.

It's a fact Mark, commercial vessels engaged in activities that limit their menueverability, like gill netting, have the right of way over a recreational sail boat. Like I said, you guys think the sail right of way over *recreational* power boats means any power boat. That just isn't true.
