I wouldn't either. I much prefer my drysuit, but all winter long the surfers go out in full body wetsuits and that's what they like to wear on Superior.

Not sure if the waves were for near shore or open water - I can't tell from the article and I'm not sure how to access the archives for that lake. He very well could have been trying to surf the waves. All speculation at this point.
