I have admitted to using "wood grained" contact paper. I will allow as to how it may look like real wood, but point out that printing technology is pretty impressive these days. The beauty of this system is when the surface gets scratched or you are tired of the "stripping pattern" you can just peel it off. I think next time I'll make my next boat out of "granite". I've seen some really convincing stuff at Walmart.
