I have an old foot powered wet stone which I adapted with a couple of step down pulleys powered by a second hand washer motor I got for $5.00 (yes, $5.00 Canadian -- they would probably pay you to take it). I am now slowly going through the process of trueing it but even out of round it is nice to use. The old wet stone was only about $10 at a farm auction.
good luck
