Dang you Dave. I was going to argue against this idea but... Concidering the skin is the most expensive part of a boat, if you are going to re-skin a boat, you realy might as well build another one. Especially if you re-use materials from the boat you don't like.
Unfortunately I have never felt comfortable in the Otter, so I might have to try something drastic to save it. Maybe I could save the skin and cut slits along the deck and insert the extra material that way. Hopefully the skin would have enough slack to take the new shape. Re-sew the deck and add a "band-aid" to the deck... of cource.
