you just work the wet part you need, what i tape onto its or almost finished or at least precoated because the sticky stuff i use isnt the "pro" stuff and it leaves residues that i have to clean with solvent.
In any case noone says that you cant bag the whole coaming first and build the deck around it when its finished, or make a mould of the coaming onto the deck, build it separately and then attach it.
