Roger - Sharp looking frame! Good call on the ribs, they can be narrow say 5/8" to 1" wide . Some Greenland kayaks used few ribs maybe only 10 in a 17' kayak but they were wide ribs 1 1/2 " and did the job. For my kayaks I like ribs 15/16" wide , 1/4" thick and about 7 1/2" apart on average
