Thanks for the ideas. After making my post I went back to the boat (which is still right side up) and stretched some bungee cords between the keelson and gunwales at the first, middle, and last sections. This helped the hold the chines in place as well as let me see where the skin would hit the sections. It was too nice of an afternoon to spend much time with it but after slipping them in on one side I was happy to see that they did seem to kind of fall in place. Or at least I didn't need to bend and twist the heck out of them to the point they looked fairly correct. I'll go back after dark and see if I can nail them down. Upside down would be easier, I might have to do that. I'll start with your suggested placement and see how it looks.

I'm planning on notching the sections after marking where the chines (3/4x3/4) will be. Definitely would have been easier to design it that way but I don't think it will be too bad with the jigsaw now. I might be singing a different tune tomorrow though. I tried Hulls but am still working on the learning curve for it. Hopefully with some more practice (and learning from my mistakes on this one) I'll use it for my next boat.

I'd seen that picture of your rowboat before when I started researching this. Very pretty.

Will report back on my progress.

Thanks,

Alan
