Thanks for the tips on books. I had to go with the less expensive kindle version of The Heart of Haiku by Hirshfield. If I get through that I may put the money on Gurga. This has generated an idea. We have all experienced on paddles (especially solo paddles) how unrelated ideas go through our mind but seem to connect in a way that gives us clearer focus and better understanding. Think about it snips of ideas, a natural setting, better understanding. So this is the idea. Post a slide show of images, let anyone so inclined write a Haiku for an image, and create a slide show with images and Haiku which would be a paper version of the actual experience. My hypothesis is that the experience is universal enough that the creation from several would be very close to what any one of the people would create individually. I am thinking you may have to help everyone out by educating us on how many ons are in the word Guinness and Robert can help by experimenting to find out how many ons are in a six pack of Guinness.
