I think I'll pass on the beams. No telling where the knots might go inside. I was solely interested because they were pretty inexpensive. I'm heading to HD tomorrow anyway so guess I can comb through the piles a bit.

Anyway, I got a little more done last night. The strongback is now set up in the garage. I got the risers marked and screwed down. I actually took my time doing this. I clamped each one before I screwed it down. I wanted to make sure they were square to the beam.

Finally, I clamped all of the forms on just to see what it would look like. Cool! This marks a milestone as up until now, I have just been cutting a bunch of OSB. Now it actually looks like something. Woohoo!

This weekend, I'll try and get them forms screwed to the risers. BTW, I love the $1 2" spring clamps from HD. They are easy to handle and hold really well. I plan on getting about 20 more tomorrow.
