I've got a pretty pointy bow on my Disko Bay and I've yet to find a problem with it. It's not like these things are all that fast, you'd need some other kind of power to actually hurt someone by hitting them. And I'd presume that when you go to the trouble and time to build one of these things you very likely aren't going around running into things.

I suppose if you have a low car and car top it someone could run into the bow while it's parked, but they'd be awfully close doing that, probably shouldn't be that close to start with, even then, it's not "that" sharp.

Personally I don't see the problem.
