I have to agree with Pedro. I personally find bead and cove faster (maybe better) than running rolling bevels. I use a shaper to cut my beads and coves. My bits are the same thickness and diameter. I have one initial setup to set the height and reveal. To switch from coves to beads I just remove the coving bit from the shaper, slap in the beader and away we go. No need to touch anything else (usually). I use my baby power feeder so the cutting of the beads and coves is even easier. Just keep sticking strips in one nd and out they shoot. Virtually perfect every time. And it's fast. For an average kayak I can rip all my strips, and cove and bead them in about 90 minutes. That includes all the setup time. I also like the way they hold the strips in alignment.

I never had good luck doing rolling bevels. I found it too fiddly and time consuming. I once spent over a 1/2 hour on just one strip. For this case with tone rough edge and for people starting I'd recommend bead and cove strips. If you're good at rolling bevels, all the power to you. It's an art.
