Maybe someone who is all for cove and bead wants to advise Dave what to do with all of those "V" shaped ends that occurs all over the kayak? Using cove an bead on a kayak is not like making a barrel where all the strips run parallel to each other the entire length of the boat. when they end in a "V" shape you are now trying to match in to a cove or bead.

Plus you can ruin a lot of wood setting up your cove an bead jig and your strips have to be all the exact thickness or the jig has to be re-adjusted. So If you unset your saw and cut more strips later, the thickness has to be on the money or the cove and bead will be off. Or you start running scraps through your C & B set up to re-true it up.

I have done both and just find C & B a lot of work that I didn't need and find the planing of bevels enjoyable.
