Like I said, it's available in quantity. Sometimes really big quantity. Wholesale lumber companies mostly sell to the building trades (houses, commercial buildings).

Also it's not like going to the big box stores, you have to be ready to buy when what you want is available, might be a year or even several years before you'll need it.
