I carry a large military knife with me when I paddle in the wilderness (yeah, yeah, I remember the comments made about this years ago). The link below will show you what I carry. I do not carry this knife within city limits because that serves little purpose other than to get arrested. This knife was recommended to me as useful as a means to protect myself in case of bear attack in the wilderness when all else has failed (bangers, pepper spray, flares, etc.), hence the 8" serated double edges. The knife never leaves its sheath and stays out of sight at home.
